Latest session: January 2019
The Committee on the Rights of the Child held its 80th session from 14 January to 1 February 2019. During this session, the following countries were assessed: Bahrain, Belgium, Guinea, Italy, Japan and the Syrian Arab Republic.  


Upcoming sessions:

May 2019

The Committee on the Rights of the Child will hold its 81st session from 12 – 31 May 2019. During this session, the Committee will consider Botswana, Cabo Verde, Côte d'Ivoire, Malta, Singapore, and Tonga.


Previous sessions:

September 2018

The 79th session of the Committee on the Rights of the Child took place from 17 September – 5 October 2018. The CRC issued concluding observations to the El Salvador, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Mauritania, and Niger. The Committee made 3 recommendations on nationality, birth registration, and implementing measures to two of the four states it considered. One recommendation was on gender discrimination in nationality law, and another two recommendations related to implementing measures Click here to read an overview of all recommendations made in relation to the right to a nationality and statelessness at this session.
